Piaggio says it delivered 202,100 two-wheelers worldwide in the first half of 2017, up 11% from 182,100 units in the year-earlier period.
Piaggio says the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region was responsible for 131,000 two-wheelers (+5.5%), Asia Pacific for 35,800 units (-4.5%), India for 27,900 units (up 98% due to the Aprilia SR150) and the Americas for 7,300 units (+16%).
Of the 202,100 two-wheelers delivered during the first half of 2017, scooters accounted for 180,200 units while motorcycles represented 21,900 units.
Sold in almost 100 countries, Piaggio’s range of products includes scooters, motorcycles and mopeds, as well as 3- and 4-wheeler vehicles. Brands include Ape, Aprilia, Derbi, Gilera, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio, Piaggio Commercial Vehicles, Scarabeo and Vespa.
