Start a Local Vespa Club Chapter
Bring Vespa Riders Together. Build a Community. Go Ride
Interested in starting a Vespa club in your area? We’d love to have you join us!
A Vespa Club of America local chapter connects riders in your community while making your club part of a nationwide network of Vespa enthusiasts. Through VCOA’s affiliation with the Vespa World Club, you’ll also become part of the worldwide Vespa club community.
Why Start a Vespa Club?
Because riding is even better when you have people to share it with.
A local club gives Vespa riders a place to:
• Find people to ride with
• Make new friends
• Share knowledge and help each other
• Plan local rides and meetups
• Attend rallies and events together
• Connect with the larger Vespa community
Your club can be as simple or as organized as you want it to be. Some clubs are a group of friends who meet for coffee and ride once a month. Others have officers, dues, organized events, and even their own rallies.
There’s no single right way to be a Vespa club.
Become Part of Something Bigger
Vespa Club of America is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing together people who share a passion for Vespa scooters and scooter culture throughout the United States.
Our community includes riders of both vintage and modern Vespas, and we welcome scooter enthusiasts who share our enthusiasm for riding and community.
VCOA is affiliated with the Vespa World Club, connecting our local chapters with the international Vespa club community.
Registering your local chapter with VCOA gives your club official recognition within this network and allows your club to use Vespa Club branding in accordance with Vespa World Club and Piaggio guidelines.
What Do You Need to Start?
It really starts with one thing: A group of people who want to ride Vespas together.
To become a VCOA local chapter, we ask that you have:
• A core group of members—we recommend approximately 10
• A regular monthly meeting or gathering
• An online presence where riders can find your club
• A club cog/logo
• Registration with Vespa Club of America
What's a Club Cog?
One of the traditions of Vespa clubs around the world is the club cog—the round badge that identifies your club and where you're from. Club cogs often feature something recognizable from the club's city, state, or region. They can be used on patches, stickers, banners, apparel, and other club materials.
You may also decide to create a traditional legshield banner for the front of your Vespa. Club merchandise and memorabilia are frequently traded between Vespa clubs, making them a fun part of the larger Vespa club tradition.
Need help designing your cog?
We can help! Send us an image or an idea featuring something iconic from your city, region, or state, and VCOA can help you develop a club cog design.
What VCOA Can Do for Your Club
You don't have to figure everything out on your own.
As a VCOA local chapter, we can help you:
• Get listed in the VCOA national club directory
• Introduce your club through VCOA communications and social media
• Design your official club cog
• Find vendors for cogs, patches, stickers, banners, and other club items
• Access sample charters and organizational resources
• Promote your rides, rallies, meetups, and events
• Find rally-planning resources and information about potential sponsors
• Learn about available insurance resources
• Access applicable VCOA benefits and discounts
• Connect with Vespa clubs across the United States and around the world
Your Club. Your Way.
Do you need a president? Should you collect dues? Do you need bylaws? Should you host a rally? That's up to you.
A new club may need little more than a group of riders, a meeting place, and a regular ride. As your club grows, you can decide whether additional leadership and organization make sense.
VCOA can provide resources and examples from other clubs to help you along the way.
Ready to Start Your Club?
Starting a Vespa club doesn't have to be complicated.
Find some riders. Pick a place to meet. Create your club identity. Plan a ride.
We'll help you with the rest.
After submitting your registration, email us at info@vespaclubofamerica.com and tell us about your club, your members, and where you ride.
